Das 1998 eröffnete Literarische Museum „Tschechow-Salon“, dessen Grundlage das 1956 gegründete „Tschechow-Archiv“ als das älteste kommunale Archiv für einen russischen Autor in Westdeutschland darstellt, ist das einzige Museum Westeuropas für den 1860 im südrussischen Taganrog geborenen und 1904 im Heilbad Badenweiler verstorbenen russischen Schriftsteller und Dramatiker der Weltliteratur Anton Pawlowitsch Tschechow.
